This is a site that I hope will serve to inform and motivate people into transforming their fears and frustrations over our Health Care crisis into creative action.

There is a lot to be concerned about.

HEALTH ACTION COALITION

Our Mission :

1. To identify individually how this crisis is affecting the family.

2. To get input from all health care workers I.E. Doctors Nurses Technicians, Care Facilities and staff and any others that have an interest in helping to solve the problem.

3. To bring better awareness to all Government parties of the crisis as it affects the family.

4. To offer some helpful suggestions as to how our medical $ should be spent and find out for sure how it actually is spent in the system of health care.

5. TO GET THE “GRASS ROOTS” PEOPLE INVOLVED IN SAVING OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

6. TO HELP EDUCATE AND INFORM THE “GRASS ROOTS” SO THEY MIGHT FORM THEIR OWN OPINIONS WITHOUT THE HYPE OF THE MEDIA AND THE AGENDA’S OF GOVERNMENTS AND UNIONS.

Get involved Canada it is up to you! We are willing to print your thoughts and ideas either anonymously or with you name but most of all we want to hear how you feel about what is happening with Medicare.

This Coalition was formed under the Umbrella of the Nanaimo Women's Center. We believe that most care givers of the World are Women and so the Health Care issue is one that is very dear to our hearts.

There have been and still are many professional studies done on what is needed to correct our medical health care but very few have involved the people it is affecting. I would like to offer you the chance to have a voice in what you feel needs to be done. There is yet another study being done right now by the senate to study the problem and it was quoted in the paper that it will take approximately 3yrs to complete. I want to tell you I have phoned the senate everyday (3times a day) for the last week and have yet to get an answer as to who is going to run this study, where the public input is coming from and what is the cost to the public going to be? Even more importantly I suggest that in 3yrs from now there will not be a fair and equal health system in place at all. It is very clear that governments want the system privatized and those foundations are already being put in place. Mr. Rock says that is not true but I say his actions belie his words. There are already private insurance companies offering a health insurance policy.

“The cost to you would be:

100,000 worth of insurance for $53 a month. A 50 year old will pay $87 a month and a 50yr. old will pay $192 per month. Past 60 the cost becomes prohibitive and companies won’t sell policies to anyone over 64.” This was stated in the Times Colunist.

It is time we all screamed out for better use of our medical dollar....remember, even 10 of you whispering can make a pretty loud voice....here is a way you can begin to get involved...
